Main Interface
ControlCenter Right Mouse
Button Popup
Clicking the right mouse button on the
ControlCenter will bring up a list of some common operations that can be performed. The
image on the left above shows the menu available presented via the default ControlCenter
in its "docked" state. The second image, differing only in the first two options
available, is of an undocked ControlCenter.
AutoHide
When a ControlCenter is
"docked" to one edge of the screen, by default it is always visible. Selecting
AutoHide will slide the ControlCenter off the edge of the screen when the user moves the
mouse away from it. To restore the ControlCenter, simply move the mouse to the edge of
the screen where the ControlCenter is docked and it will pop back into place. The
Activation tab under Properties can also be used to configure additional
"hot-spots" on the screen to restore the ControlCenter to the desktop.
Show Title
- As the default configuration for the Control
Center is in a docked state, the display of the ControlCenter's titlebar is disabled by
default. When in an undocked state, this option may be selected to display the Control
Center's titlebar.
Undock/Dock
Selecting Undock will unlock the
ControlCenter from the edge of the screen and allow it to be resized and placed anywhere
on the desktop. Selecting the Dock option will reenable docking to a screen edge. The edge
the ControlCenter is currently docked at can be altered by using Shift+mouse button 1
(generally the left mouse button) to drag the ControlCenter to another edge of the
screen.
Retrieve Windows
- All open windows on any open Virtual Desktop
will be "retrieved" and placed in the current Virtual Desktop.
Always on Top
- Enabling the Always on Top option will cause
the ControlCenter to "float" to the top of any open windows on the screen. This
ensures that the ControlCenter is always accessible, regardless of whether your other
applications may be in a maximized state that would otherwise prevent the ControlCenter
from being accessed.
Run
A shortcut to the Windows Run
command to open programs, data files, or resources on your machine or over a network
(including UNC paths and URL's).
Task Manager
Brings up the Windows task manager
appropriate for the installation of Windows that the ControlCenter is installed on.
Exit
- Closes the ControlCenter.
Logoff/Shutdown
- These options provide shortcuts to their respective Windows functions
enabling convenient access to the logoff and shutdown features of the current Windows
installation.
New CC Wizard
- Select this option to create a new ControlCenter by invoking the
New ControlCenter Wizard.
Properties
- Opens the Properties notebook for the current ControlCenter
permitting access to additional options and configuration choices as detailed in the
following sections.
