At this point you may think you have a wallpaper because your Windows wallpaper will be visible if you have one set.

This however is not saved with your theme, so each person will get a different version of the theme. You will probably have noticed this, because your desktop already probably looks different to mine as displayed in the screenshot.

Let's get to the point where we are all working from the same point by setting a wallpaper in DesktopX.

The first thing to to do is launch the DesktopX configuration dialogue like you did in the last section.

Once you have done this click the 'Theme Settings' button on the left, then the 'Wallpaper' at the top. This should bring up a dialogue similar to the one on the right.

The first thing to do is to tick the checkbox next to the Wallpaper option (1).

Once you have done this, you need to choose your wallpaper. The wallpaper I use is Lost Souls III by Nuvem. You can download it here (2.25mb). DesktopX needs Bitmap wallpapers, but they can be a little heavy on the download side, so if you want you can download the JPG version (548kb) and convert it yourself if you know how.

To tell DesktopX to use the wallpaper you want, you need to click the browse button (2), and locate the Bitmap file on your hard drive.

Because the theme is designed to run at 1024x768 and the wallpaper is also 1024x768 you can leave the wallpaper style as 'Center'.

Once you have done this, you should get a message that the wallpaper has been copied to the theme directory.

My theme now still looks like Windows but at least I have the wallpaper I want. Now is when the fun really starts.

In this section I haven't added a download. All future downloads will not include a wallpaper as this means they take much longer to download. If you want to use a downloaded theme just add the wallpaper back by using these instructions.
