Control Center

Control Center is sluggish. What's up with that?

There's "banding" of the image in the background of virtual desktops. OR Control Center looks funny after I return to the desktop from playing a full-screen DirectX game.

! Running on less than a P75 with 16MB of RAM is liable to be more pain than it is worth.

! If you are running in greater than 8-bit color mode with the default background, switching to 8-bit mode and then back to a hi-color mode will cause the background image in virtual desktops to be banded/dithered. This occurs because the default background in hi-color modes does not display properly in 8-bit color (there is a separate BMP file available for systems running in 8-bit color). Simply close the Control Center and restart it to correct the color problem. Users will be most apt to notice this problem when switching away from a full-screen DirectX game.
