One of the most impressive of the new features of
SkinStudio is the ability to import and export GUI Widgets.
What is a GUI Widget? It is simply a subcollection of graphic files and
UIS code that describe a particular skin feature
(i.e. buttons, scroll bars, progress bars, the Start button, etc.)
You might have a great idea for the basic elements of a WindowBlinds
skin, but the more complicated elements might give you a headache.
So instead of living with an unfinished skin, SkinStudio allows
you to borrow skin elements from other skin authors that have provided
them for this purpose.
This GUI Widget technology works both ways. If you are a
skin artist that likes to create buttons, frames, scroll bars, etc,
then you can Export your own widgets. SkinStudio has a tool to
help you package your GUI Widgets and even assist in creating the
widget preview image.
Click one of these buttons to see a dynamic preview.
