  • 3D Artist

    We are currently seeking an experienced full-time, 3D Artist, to collaborate with our existing team on assets for an upcoming game title. The ideal candidate will be skillful in creating a variety of assets and have a strong artistic eye. Furthermore, the artist should be comfortable with a technical pipeline involving different tools along with a proprietary in-house engine. Overall, this candidate must be passionate about contributing to the creation of video game experiences beyond simply creating assets.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:
    • Produce high quality assets according to design specs, technical requirements and 3D best practices
    • Create terrain assets (heightmaps, static meshes, substances, etc.)
    • Create organic assets (animals, characters, etc.)
    • Create hard surface assets (cars, spaceships, etc.)
    • Create textures using photoshop Substance Painter and Substance Designer
    • Coordinate with games team to ensure project visual and technical standards
    • Create consistent, stylized artwork from concept to finalized asset
    • Complete 3D art on schedule with project milestones
    Education and/or Experience Desired:
    • 5+ Years experience creating 3D art as displayed in visual portfolio
    • 3+ Years professional experience making assets for games
    • Proficient with standard industry tools such as: Z-Brush, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Maya, World Machine
    • Strong grasp of color, form, composition and motion
    • Experience working in a PBR asset creation pipeline
    • Well developed communication, teamwork and collaboration skills
    Bonuses:
    • Degree or certification in 3D art, digital art, or related discipline
    • Experience working on a game with a proprietary engine
    • High level experience creating substances in Substance Designer
    • High level of confidence in environmental modelling

  • Application Developer

    Stardock is currently seeking a full-time Application Developer to fix and improve our current Windows software and supporting systems as well as to create new products and technologies. The Application Developer will use a wide skill set to tackle interesting, complex, and varied projects. The Developer should be capable of handling many aspects of an application, including but not limited to performance, scalability, security and testing. This position is based out of our Plymouth, MI location.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:
    • Design, code, test, document, and debug new and existing applications and systems according to industry best practices.
    • Prepare and maintain code for various .NET and C++ applications and resolve any defects in systems.
    • Assist in defining scope and specifications for software projects.
    • Work with Software Engineers to assist in optimizing code and improving products.
    • Maintain and improve current product delivery systems.
    • Track and communicate through bug tracking system.
    Education and/or Experience Desired:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant field required.
    • 3+ years experience desired in C++ and .NET required.
    • 3+ years experience in Windows application development required.

  • Graphics Engineer

    Stardock Entertainment continually breaks new technical ground across our catalog of PC game titles spanning 4X and Real-Time Strategy and Action Adventure. We are currently seeking a Graphics Engineer to work on our next-generation game engine for both announced and unannounced titles to build up our team of dedicated and experienced talent! This is a salaried, full-time position at our Plymouth, Michigan studio.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:
    • Work with the artists and designers to produce next-generation graphics.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues related to graphics.
    • Optimize graphics to run on a variety of platforms and machine specifications.
    • Create and maintain tools for artists to visualize and debug their assets.
    Education and/or Experience Desired:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
    • 3+ years experience in C++ required.
    • Familiarity with 3D math, including quaternions and matrix math required.
    • Shipped at least one commercial game.
    • Experience with all core areas of graphics development (Shaders, Animation, Post-Effects, PBR Materials, and particles) while demonstrating a specialization in one of those areas required.
    • Critical eye for attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with 3D graphics hardware and driver stack.
    • Experience with at least one graphics API: OpenGL, Direct3D, Vulkan, Metal; and a shading language like HLSL or GLSL.
    • Experience developing on current generation or next-generation console is a plus.

  • Senior Game Developer

    Are you an avid gamer interested in creating awesome games? Stardock is currently seeking a talented Senior Game Developer to create gameplay systems in cutting edge games. The ideal candidate is well versed in C++, has created games in the past, and loves strategy games. This is a salaried, full-time position at our Plymouth, Michigan office.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:
    • Port game engine code to multiple consoles and PC platforms.
    • Architect, build and maintain core systems in modern C++ on multicore CPUs.
    • Write technical documents describing core systems.
    • Mentor and collaborate with other developers.
    • Work closely with Design, Production, and Art to develop requirements and implementation plans.
    • Manage timelines and milestones to meet stakeholder expectations.
    • Work closely with production and QA to address bugs.
    Education and/or Experience Desired:
    • 10+ years of experience in game development.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or relevant field.
    • Strong C++ background.
    • Passion for games and game design.
    • Self-motivated and loves solving problems.
    • Experience with modern graphics APIs and multicore programming.
    • Expertise in several of the following: Optimization, networking, parallel and distributed systems, UI/UX, AI, physics, data management, graphics, gameplay, audio, HLSL/GLSL shaders, pipelines, terrain.
    • Able to learn new technology quickly and execute on a schedule in a fast-paced cross-discipline team environment.
    • Multiple shipped titles or mods.

This is a salaried, full-time position at our Plymouth, Michigan studio.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:
    • Developing, maintaining, and publishing of multiplayer game servers and services in the cloud.
    • Management of user-created content in a multiplayer environment.
    • Develop fast, reliable, resource optimized, and most importantly, fun multiplayer features in collaboration with gameplay and design teams.
    • Develop and maintain tools for testing, analysis, and monitoring of the multiplayer servers.
    • Investigate and resolve bugs related to game servers and services.
    Education and/or Experience Desired:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
    • 3+ years of experience in developing in C++ and/or C#.
    • Experience with Azure and/or AWS development and deployment.
