Nitrous Engine in Star Control Reboot

There is AD in this website for Oxide's Star Swarm Test which uses the Nitrous Engine.
In the description it further more SAYS the following:
"The Nitrous engine is already in use for two games currently in production: an unannounced title from Oxide Games and Stardock’s Star Control reboot. Nitrous is also available for licensing to interested game developers. "
So Star Control Reboot it is then???
And what are your impressions on this Nitrous Engine?
Does a game like SCR need a Nitrous Engine? What is SD's aim in using the Nitrous Engine? Will there me massively scaled space battles????
