installed beta, but cant play game.

I have got my steam key and installed the game, but when i press play in steam i get to starcontrol, where it says i have to install.

wich i did and there i get  new key to put in ind beta properties in starcontrol in steam.

i get the correct code but when i try to press the drop down menu in beta there is nothing but it says, none opt out of all beta programs.  and i cant change it even though it checked the right key.

 

now what?

every time i press play it only comes to the install screen in the starcontrol screen.
