vs AI "easy" mode?

Hi Mohawk Games Dev,

First of all, a little feedback.  When I was browsing the games on sales from Steam, and found nothing that I'd rather play but Offworld Trading company, I realize how much I love this game.  Thank you.

Something I've noticed about this game's AI is that AI skirmish game is easier to win, when there are more players.  I found myself struggling to win against 3 AI players in skirmish on Manager difficulty.  In the same time, I could consistently win against 4 AI players on Manager difficulty.  

Why is that?

My hypothesis is that the mini-maxing AI are getting into each other's ways.  When there are more resource tiles available (in the case of 3 players), they are able to utilize them optimally.  When there are less resource tiles available ( in the case of 4 players), they are performing sub-optimally.  What I can't explain is that in such sub-optimal situation, the human player comes out on top.
