Fences 6 Beta Lands with Tabs, Icon Tint, and More

Today we are releasing the first beta of Fences 6 and it is packed with new features, quality of life updates and full support for ARM devices. With new features like tabs, icon tint, enhanced deployment tooling out of the box, Folder Portal™ navigation improvements, a new color selection tool and additional quality-of-life updates, Fences 6 isn’t a step forward, it’s a leap ahead.

With Fences 6, we wanted to continue the enhancement of the core desktop experience by adding tabs to the Fence groups on your desktop. With a simple drag and drop experience, you can now stack Fence groups on-top of each other to created a tabbed layout.

And like all Stardock applications, Fences 6 offers a robust set of options to create a tabbed layout and design that matches your desktop for Windows 10, Windows 11 and new with Fences 6, Windows-on-ARM (WOA) desktops too. With four different tab styles to choose from, there is a layout that will match your desktop.

But the customization doesn’t stop with tab styles, new in Fences 6 is the ability to tint icons uniformly across your desktop. Icon tint is a new personalization option that makes it easy to pick a color from your wallpaper to help your icons and Fence groups blend in organically, as well as to help individual groups stand out with unique style.

For our business customers, new deployment tooling is now available with several options to customize the deployment file to your organization’s needs out of the box. Locked, Flexible and Unlocked deployment options are available today and additional parameters can be customized as well – reach out to our deployment team to learn more.

Along with the core updates, there are many quality-of-life updates included in this release. With Folder Portals™, they will now inherit the view state from the parent folder and when choosing a color for your Fence groups or icon tint, a new eyedropper makes it significantly easier to choose the exact color directly from your desktop.
