Start11 Updates Prepare for Windows 11 26H2
Article posted on 7/7/2026
Today we are releasing updates for both versions of Start11 to improve compatibility with upcoming Windows releases. The Start11 v2 update is available generally, and the Start11 v1 update is being released as a beta with an expected wider release in the coming days.
For Start11 v2 customers, this release brings compatibility enhancements for the upcoming general release of Windows 11 26H2, as well as a new feature that lets you toggle on/off the menu flyout that is shown when right-clicking a combined taskbar item; you can read more about this specific feature here.

In addition to the updates for Start11 v2, we are also releasing an update in beta for Start11 v1. This update brings additional compatibility enhancements to support the long-term functionality of this application on Windows 11 and is currently in beta testing.
As Windows 11 continues to rapidly evolve, we are committed to keeping our applications compatible with the operating system, which is why we are shipping updates for Start11 v1 this week too. While we encourage anyone still running v1 to upgrade to v2, we know that many are happy with only needing the option for a classic Start menu experience, and we want to maintain compatibility with future releases of Windows 11 for those customers.
All of the updates in this release are direct feedback from our community. If you haven’t joined the conversation yet, we highly encourage you to do so, as that’s how new features get scoped and implemented. And if you haven’t tried Start11 v2 yet, you can download a free trial here.
