June 12th! It's tomorrow! Buckle up!

At long last, June 12th is just about here! It's hard to believe how long we've (us and the Sins community) have been working on this.  Back at the start, June 2012 seemed impossibly far away. But we wanted to make sure Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion was just right. Each new faction, each new ship and titan, each new victory condition got plenty of spot light in their own beta releases. We wanted to make sure the updated graphics engine looked amazing but also performed wel... [read more]

Sins: Rebellion Interview with Neogamr

Neogamr got a chance to speak with Blair Fraser and Chris Bray about Sins: Rebellion! “ How did the idea for Rebellion come about? Blair Fraser : Ironclad and Stardock are always collecting a ton of ideas for new Sins content and mechanics. The trick is always finding a cohesive package to organize it within. We knew the next expansion was certainly going to be more militaristic than the previous expansion (Diplomacy) and we knew we wanted more faction different... [read more]

One thing we've gotten plenty of feedback on are the new corvette units. They started off cheap to produce, but not very effective. We've u... [read more]

PC Gamer Previews Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion

PC Gamer has been spending some quality time with Sins: Rebellion lately, and they have posted their preview! “The lighting on these ships is just incredible. They glimmer in the dark of space, and then blaze with laser beams, a wash of explosions, and the fire of distant stars. The Titans move with a ponderous menace: my Ankylon pulled into range of the Ragnarov and the slowly rotated to bring its massive, slab-like sides to bear for a crushing broadside. I could make out the main gun... [read more]

Co-Optimus Takes a Hands-on Look at Sins: Rebellion

Co-Optimus got a look at Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion and have posted their preview so far. “I put a few hours into a small map, conquering and colonizing a handful of planets as well as dealing with some pesky pirates. Fallen Enchantress Preview from GamesRadar

GamesRadar got a look at Elemental: Fallen Enchantress recently, and they have posted their preview! “From what we've seen of the game, it certainly looks like Stardock is making good on its promises. IGN has a great article up on the upcoming Elemental: Fallen Enchantress along with the history of Elemental and what has been done to “right the wrong” as they say. “Elemental: Fallen Enchantress is Stardock's mea culpa for War of Magic. Stardock’s “really dumb” plan takes shape

This week we met with the press and one of the topics that kept coming up over and over was just how much better Elemental: Fallen Enchantress looked and played versus 2010’s first attempt at a fantasy strategy game, Elemental: War of Magic.  This begged the question – why would Stardock tie Fallen Enchantress to Elemental: War of Magic which was a pretty mediocre game. This article on Gamasutra goes into some depth as to why we are pursuing this strategy. Gamasutra: ... [read more]
